Questions? I've got answers.
A few things clients often ask before we begin. Don't see what you're looking for? I'm always just an email away.
01What kinds of photo sessions do you offer?
Families, maternity, and newborns, plus seniors, couples, and everyday portrait sessions. I also do headshots when you need a good one, and I cover events if you've got something bigger going on, like a celebration or a small wedding. Whether it's a milestone or just a stretch of life you want to remember, the goal's the same: pictures that actually look like you.
02We're not photogenic and have no idea how to pose. Is that a problem?
Nope. That's most of the people I photograph. You don't need to know what to do with your hands or how to stand. I direct you the whole way with small adjustments and a few "okay, now lean in and tell her something true." Most people forget the camera's there within the first few minutes. All you have to do is show up.
03What if our kids won't sit still?
They don't have to. Kids being kids is half of what makes these photos good, and I shoot for it instead of fighting it. I keep things moving so we're done before anyone melts down, and the in-between moments, someone laughing or being ridiculous, are usually the keepers. Snacks never hurt.
04Where will our session take place?
I scout and pick the location ahead of time, so you don't have to figure out where to go. Most sessions are outdoors at spots around Sacramento that photograph well and fit the feel you're after. If you'd rather shoot at home or somewhere that means something to you, just tell me and we'll build around it.
05Do you only work in Sacramento?
I'm based in Sacramento and regularly shoot in Davis, Woodland, Elk Grove, Folsom, and Roseville. I travel too, so if you're a little further out, just ask.
06How long are your sessions?
It depends which one you book. The Moment is short and sweet, in and out in about 30 minutes. The Season gives us more time to move around and try a few different setups. The Story is the full thing, the longest session with the most variety. Events are quoted by the hour based on what you're celebrating. You can see what's included with each one on the Photo Sessions page.
07How many people can be in my session?
Standard sessions cover up to 6. Bigger groups are welcome, they just need more time so nobody ends up rushed or stiff. Groups of 7 or more book The Story, which has the room to pose everyone properly, and extended families of 10 or more get a custom quote. The bigger the group, the more time it takes to make everyone actually look like themselves. That is all the cap is for.
08What should we wear?
Once you book, I'll send a short styling guide. The main thing: wear what makes you feel like yourself on a good day. Colors that go together photograph better than everyone matching exactly, and comfortable almost always beats fancy. Want a second opinion on an outfit? Send me a photo.
09How many photos will we get?
The full edited gallery. Every keeper from your session, edited and delivered, not a handful with the rest locked behind an upgrade. You won't sort through proofs or pick favorites to unlock anything, and there's no add-on to buy the good ones. What we make is yours.
10Are there any hidden costs or upsells?
No. The session price is the price. No print packages to upgrade into, no per-image fees, no surprise line items after the shoot. You'll know exactly what you're paying before we start, and the full gallery is always included. You can find pricing for each session on the Photo Sessions page.
11How do I book?
Head to my booking form or email me and tell me roughly what you have in mind. I'll walk you through what's open, help you pick the right session, and handle the planning from there.
12When will I receive my photos?
Most galleries arrive within 2 to 3 weeks. I'll give you a closer timeline when we schedule, and if anything's running long, I'll tell you rather than leave you wondering.
13What if it rains, someone gets sick, or we need to reschedule?
We move it, no drama. Weather and sick kids are part of life, not a reason to stress. If we need a new day, we find a new day.
14Do you offer mini sessions?
Once in a while, usually tied to a season or a specific spot. They're limited and tend to fill quickly, so the best way to hear about one is to follow along on Instagram or join the email list.
Still have a question?
I'd love to hear what's on your mind. Send a note and we'll figure out the right session for you.
